Moon Dance…

Last month I saw the magic of the blue moon…I’m sure I’ve seen one before…but this time I was aware of it…savored it…consciously took a walk in it…appreciated the rareness of it…

This month is the full harvest moon…the moon immortalized by song lyrics…and…last night it was truly worthy of song…

It first showed its face…in the Eastern sky…behind a thin veil of clouds…clouds in movement…that gave the moon the appearance of dancing…just a bit…later…after it had danced across the sky to the South…the veil had been lifted…revealing a beautiful moon…surrounded by a clear sky…and then…a perfect circle of clouds…making the fairy ring for my garden…such a beautiful site…

This morning…the moon greeted me…peeking through the trees from the West…having danced the night away…

Such a simple thing…watching the moon…basking in the beauty of it…of the predictableness of it…the magic…when you think about it…but…so powerful at the same time…

And…where was…Bertha…during my moon gazing…I saw her gliding up a moonbeam…something about a date…with…the man in the moon…I like to think it was they who danced…

The Crash of 2012…

I wrote about computer updates yesterday…well…kinda…but…that didn’t mean I was prepared for my computer at work to…blue screen…right in the middle of a busy day…

But…that’s exactly what it did…I was right in the middle of entering the information regarding a student visit…looked up at her for a second…and poof…everything was gone…just like that…no warning…nothing…

Well…it probably gave me warnings…but…I must admit…I’m not that computer savvy…I surely missed them…

Of course…I called tech support…they couldn’t help me remotely…gotta send it in…suggested that I borrow one in the meantime…

Okay…Library has an old laptop…I could use that…unhooked the old computer…hooked up the laptop…it didn’t have MS Office on it…which I use every day…back to the drawing board…they did have a second ancient laptop…which did have Office…exchange them…of course it needs to update…it’s been out of use for a while…

Next order of business…get my computer to the tech office…when I stay late and they don’t…luckily one of the teachers was willing to transport it for me…

Of course…Bertha…was on the sidelines…she can be such an armchair quarterback sometimes…watching…but not offering any technical advice…seems she doesn’t consider herself to be a computer geek

She did of course relate it to my life…reminding me…of how quickly things change…for the worse…for the better…which is a shift in my thinking…I normally relate to things changing in an instant for the worse…but…it’s true…they also can change for the better…

Hmmm…who knows…I may get a new computer out of this deal…now…that would be better…
