Grounded…


I’ve read several articles lately…about the benefits of…grounding…now…don’t go getting excited…it has nothing to do with…discipline…and I won’t be taking away…Bertha’s…pedicure privileges…any time soon…

No…this type of grounding has to do…with putting bare feet…on the ground…the principle being…that the bare skin will absorb the negative ions of the earth…which has health benefits…

One of the articles…talked about…barefoot running…which sounded interesting…until I realized…it involved…running…and that kind of made it less appealing…

But…I have taken my shoes off…and walked around in my yard…especially on the flat stones in the dry creek…and…I have to say…it does feel good…interestingly…the weeds…feel different under my feet than the grass…and different rocks…also…have different feels…

All this barefooting…brought back memories of childhood…when…I rarely wore shoes…Mama…couldn’t keep them on me…in fact…she says…I even threw one brand new pair out the car window…never to be seen again…I might add

So…I added…apples and ducks…and came up with this conclusion…I must have always been…a very…grounded…person…

Bertha…just rolled her eyes…turned off the TV…took my cell phone and car keys…

Guess I’ll be walking in the yard for a few days…

  1. I LOVE wandering barefoot in the yard. One thing I LOVE is playing frisbee or baseball or badminton with Maddie barefoot. It’s very freeing! And then, of course, with yoga – I’m almost always barefoot – shoes are becoming more and more restrictive… Give them piggies some air!
