Shape Shifting with Jennifer…

Wow…Bertha…and I have been doing quite a bit of entertaining this week…and…getting to know some of our favorite authors a bit better…so…today…we’ve invited…our friend…Jennifer Loiske…to join us…she’s coming all the way from…Finland…so…she may be a bit jetlagged…but…hopefully…not…let’s see how it goes…

Jennifer…thanks for making the trip to Alabama…hope you made it through…cyberspace without a hitch…I know you’d probably like to freshen up…but…Bertha’s…chomping at the bit…to ask you some questions…

Oh, I’m fine at the moment. Ask away Bertha!

Good to hear…here…goes…Bertha…likes it when I write…with a flamingo on my desk…what about you…do you have any writing rituals…good luck charms…etc…

I once answered this very same question saying no. But then I thought about it and I have to admit that every time I have a new story in mind I drive myself to a very dark place by exhausting both my mind and body before starting to write…I listen to a ‘dark music’, watch certain series, stay up all night and take a long walks whilst letting my brain work…

Wow…I’d say that’s a ritual…and…I definitely don’t think a flamingo would fit it…do you write by a set schedule…or when the fancy hits you…

Well, I try to write couple of hours every morning. Then I’ll take my dogs out and do the ever so boring housework. After that I write a bit more and when the kids are sleeping I write again. But when the fancy hits me I forget everything else and just write…

Sounds like a great schedule…I’m envious…what else do you do when you aren’t writing…

I have two dogs and I try to train them whenever I have time. I also read a lot, sail, and try to drag myself to the gym.

Hmmm…if wrestling to get myself to the gym…counted as a workout…I’d really be in shape…unfortunately…well…we won’t go there…anyway…is music part of your creative process…

Actually no. But I always listen to music just before I start writing. I love Linkin Park, Evanescence, Adam Lambert, Bruno Mars, Disturbed, Pink, Olly Murs, Ed Sheeran and some I’m too ashamed to mention…

Okay…this is one of…Bertha’s…favorite questions…is your glass half full or half empty…

Half full of course!

Oh…just the answer she wanted to hear…if you could have a dinner party…with five people…living or dead…who would be invited…

Mother Teresa, Michael Jackson, Channing Tatum, Paulo Coelho, Mahatma Gandhi…do I have to stop now…but what would a party be without a couple of gatecrashers…Albert Einstein, Oprah Winfrey, Lord Byron…Oh, and Whitney Houston.

Oh…count me in on the gate crashers…sounds like quite the happening place…I can see why you invited them…but…here’s a tricky question…why would someone like your books…

Hmm…well, most of them are fun and engaging (CLUB NUMBER FIVE, BLACK DIAMOND). A bit sassy and quite ‘easy’ to read. But if you’re looking for more serious PNR then my Shape Shifter series (IMMINENCE, SEDUCTION) are the ones to read. It’s a series full of possibilities, facts about epilepsy, wolves and of course some young paranormal love…

They sound quite interesting…I can see why you have a such a loyal following…now…in your own words…tell us a bit about you…

I live in Finland in Naantali, which is a small sunny town on the southwest coast (mostly known of the Moomin Valley). I’m a pre-school teacher by profession but I stayed home when my youngest daughter suffered brain fever, which developed severe epilepsy in 2004. I guess that’s when I first considered starting writing again as I had to stay awake and monitor her whilst she was sleeping and it can be really sleepy and boring when the house is quiet… I’m a workaholic and I always have a lot of projects going on at the same time. I write articles to the magazines and I’m a part of the team that makes Epilepsy Finland Magazine. I love chips, cheesy teen movies (and series too!), books, animals and I have a soft spot for the ones in need of a helping hand. A huge part of my royalties go to charity; mainly to help families with epileptic children but also to the epilepsy units in the hospitals.

As a school nurse…I so appreciate your charity…kudos to you…for helping others in this way……now…lastly…but…definitely not leastly…where can people go to find out more about you…

Best place to learn more about me is my website or join my Facebook, Twitter and Goodreads worlds. And please visit my Amazon Author page for a full listing of my books.

One last thing…you can get Jennifer’s latest book…Club Number Five…on sale…for…only…99 cents…quite a bargain…check it out…it’s a new release…with great reviews…
