Live Your Options…

Shopping FrustRecently I was shopping with a friend… who complained about the checkout system of the store we were in… I opened my mouth to respond… but… Bertha’s… voice popped out… instead of mine…

You don’t have to shop here… if it bothers you… shop somewhere else…

Well… thankfully that breezy quip didn’t start and argument… but I was glad to get out of the store just the same and carry on with our day…

It wasn’t until I got home that… Bertha… told me…

I meant that for you…

Huh? How could that be meant for me… I wasn’t the one complaining… although I did find their system to be a little… okay a lot… cumbersome…

Of course… Bertha was all too happy to fill me in…

Seems as though she was referring to my life… not my shopping habits… and the times that I complain about the way things are… while continuing to do them… just the way I always have… without considering that I always have other options…

So… today… I think some contemplation time is in order… to consider what I’ve been complaining about… what my options are… and how I can live them…

Berthalocks and the Three Purses…

Growing up…I used to watch…Fractured Fairy Tales…on…The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show…I suppose that’s what this is…kinda…sorta…

I promised…Bertha…when she got 100 stars on her Amazon Review Star Chart…that I would buy her a new pair of shoes…we all know that’s her favorite thing in life…

So…since she’s surpassed that number…and my high school reunion is coming up this weekend…we went shoe shopping…the only problem was…we couldn’t find the perfect pair of shoes no matter how hard we tried…and we tried really hard…

Not to be undone…she decided to settle on a purse… I bought one this summer that I loved…except…it’s really a bit…too big…everything tends to get into a jumbled mess in the bottom…and I’m forever digging for something which is embarrassing…and…it’s heavy…

With that in mind…we looked for something smaller…I was pleased with a cousin to the one I had…it was definitely lighter…looked good…Bertha…agreed and it was purchased…

And all was well…until we got home and started putting things in it…hmmm…it was just a smidge…too small…oh…it held the essentials…and it closed…but I had a feeling that it wouldn’t be long before it would be bulging at the seams…and unzipped…

Back to the drawing board…or mall in this case…where…Berthalocks…assures me…we will get it just right…and probably won’t get eaten by a bear…

Sounds good to me…
