With all the talk I’ve done about autumn being a time of death and change…Bertha…reminds me…it is also a time of harvest…a time when I reap the bounty of my efforts from months before…
She reminds me of the abundance of the autumns of my youth…my parents were John Deere farm equipment dealers…I think I mentioned this a few posts ago…and this was our cycle of finances…in the spring…farmers were planting and getting ready for the new crop…not having extra cash at the time…they charged their purchases…big and small…same thing in the summer…but…come fall…when their crops came in…they paid their bills…and…the cycle started again…
Now…it’s not that we didn’t have any money in between…or that no one paid their bills…of course we did…of course they did…it’s just that with the crops…came the abundance…and thankfully…that coincided with Christmas gifts…
Bertha’s…reminding me that this is the time to enjoy the abundance from my past efforts…to celebrate all that has come to me over the past year…
My health immediately comes to mind…I feel so much better than I did a year ago…it was a year of continued recovery from my surgery…
My writing quickly follows…last year at this exact time…I wasn’t even writing anymore…this year…I’m blogging…sharing articles on other sites…and…Bertha-Size Your Life! has been revived…and is doing well…
I now have an image of giving…Bertha…CPR…Bertha…Bertha…are you alright…okay…I’ve taught too many CPR classes…but…you get the drift and I’ve drifted way off topic…
There are other areas of my life that are in abundance right now…I won’t list all of them…but…I will spend some time appreciating them…as I pay my metaphorical bills…and start preparing for next year’s crop…
Jane
And autumn is a time of renewal, preparing perennials for the growing and the blooming in the spring. I loved this post.
