Both of my sisters have December birthdays…and since birthdays make me nostalgic…I’m thinking about how much richer my life has been…and…is…because these two women are in my life…
So many good memories flood my mind…from my earliest childhood…from yesterday…there hasn’t been a time in my life…good…or…bad…that they haven’t been there for me…
Being the youngest of the three…I think I tortured my sisters…getting into their makeup and curlers…leaving a mess in my wake…spying on them with their boyfriends…you name it…I’m sure I did it…
And…yet…they loved me anyway…
I know brothers are special…but…I never had one…and…honestly…I can’t imagine…that…that bond can compare to the bond between sisters…
It’s not even that we’ve always gotten along…of course…we’ve squabbled over the years…it’s just that…the squabbles were never enough to break the bonds…we were still sisters underneath it all…and…we always will be…
So today…on the occasion of my oldest sister’s birthday…I’d like to thank each of them…for the light that they bring to my life…and honor…the bond of sisterhood…
Jane
I am glad you and your sisters have such a wonderful relationship, sweet Jane.
Thanks, Christy. I am very lucky…we are all totally different but still get along well.
I am happy for you and your sisters, Jane. I’m a December baby too…. getting older day by day…
Hugs
Hella
Hella…my youngest daughter was also born in December…you’re in great company…HAPPY BERTHADAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a brother… who I am extremely close to… however – I agree – there is probably nothing like the bond between sisters… in some ways, I imagine it is linear to the bond between a mom and a daughter… Beautiful, honoring post.
It is a beautiful bond, Jenn. I wish I had a brother as well because I know that would be special in a totally different way. (((HUGS))) to you this morning…you are one of my soul sisters…and those bonds are pretty strong!
