Yesterday I went for a pedicure…and…as I perused the wall of polish colors I could choose from…I was drawn to…varying shades of…blue…
I chose a nice orangish-red…
Why…well…because…frankly…blue…isn’t a natural color for nails…
Of course you know that…Bertha…with her nails done in Shocking Chartreuse…had something to say about that…starting by pointing out the fact that nails don’t grow in as an orangy-red…either…nothing natural about the color I chose…
But…all my life…I’ve chosen from an array of oranges, pinks, and reds…
Then…she not so gently reminds me…choice of nail color is a lot like my life…just because I am familiar and comfortable with something…doesn’t make it be…natural…doesn’t make it be…well…right…
I know she’s right…I know this is just my comfort zone…and…just like with those areas of my life she is referring to…it’s hard to see the possibilities…of doing things differently…of…being different…but…I think I’m ready to go there…
Hmmm…seems like a polish change is in order…
Jane
Funny! I must be more like Bertha then I thought, I have worn all different shades of blue nail polish 😉 greens, bright oranges, black etc…
Rebbekah…that doesn’t surprise me at all…I knew you were a Bertha-girl…and I’ve seen the pictures to prove it! 😉
Hi Jane,
First of all I wanted to thank you for that lovely video you upload at G plus hangouts. It was a pleasure to meet you and I loved the message you sent!.
As to this post, Bertha is right: Moving off the “Comfort Zone” might ne hard at times but I do believe that we might get new experiences and rewards at the end.
I liked your words here> “it’s hard to see the possibilities of doing things differently…of…being different…but…I think I’m ready to go there:…
Very well said. Thanks for the advice and inspiration.
Happy weekend and best wishes to you,
Aquileana 🙂
Thank you so much Aquileana…I so appreciate your support and kind words. Those comfort zones can get a bit too comfortable. 🙂
