Okay…I admit it…I’m not always the brightest crayon in the box…or maybe…it’s just that sometimes I don’t get out of the box…case in point…my friends Tamy Burns and Kimberly Hughes…authors of…Fateful Night…a novel based on the premise that Marilyn Monroe didn’t die…announced a contest…in honor of Marilyn’s birthday…for the month of August…

It was pretty straight forward…all you had to do was make a comment on a blog post containing your favorite Marilyn quote…I’d seen some of the prizes…they’re pretty cool…I could enter…except…I don’t know any Marilyn quotes…oh well…a prize would have been nice…but…not to be…

I was going to leave it at that…until…Bertha…reminded me…after I went to bed last night…that…I could Google…how could I have forgotten that…so much for good night’s sleep…

First thing this morning…I Googled…and quickly found my favorite quote…actually…Bertha…picked it out…

“Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” ~Marilyn Monroe

I copied and pasted it into the comment section…I may not win…but…at least I have a chance…which is the lesson that…Bertha…was reminding me of…we wrote about it first in a story from…Bertha-Size Your Life!…called…Lottery…when…Bertha…explained the difference between…being lucky and having a chance…

Seems as though…I can’t win the lottery if I don’t have a ticket…can’t win a contest if I haven’t entered…can’t be hired for my dream job if I don’t apply…and…the list goes on and on…

Okay…enough blogging for today…this little crayon is getting out of the box…
