Lately…Bertha…has been nudging me towards some career areas that I’m not totally comfortable with…she started out gently…a thought here…a suggestion from a friend there…but lately…her nudging…is about as gentle as a bulldozer nudging a sapling to get out of its way…
So…yesterday…as she was once again pushing…and I was once again presenting my case…she threw out this challenge…
Stop focusing on the reasons why you can’t…instead…make a list of all the reasons why you can…
Funny how that one statement grabbed me…I didn’t have time to sit down and make a list at the time…but…all day long…the list was going through my mind…and I kept asking myself…why can I do this…not…how can I do this…which is a totally different question…
Well…my list is kind of short at the moment…yesterday was a busy day…but…I think I’ve started in the right direction…
Jane
I am making my list of why I can this morning. Thank you for the inspiration, Jane!
Glad it inspired you, Peggy! It has defintely been a kick in my pants!
OH, so awesome of Bertha! She is so right. Don’t focus on why you can’t but why you can! I love the positive side of things, and everything has a positive side. Love this, thanks for reminding me that I CAN!!
Tamy,
Glad you enjoyed today’s post…as Bertha says…If you can’t look on the bright side…close your eyes! 🙂
I love you, Jane! You’re blog is inspirational and fun! And I like your list so far!
Thanks, Lauri! Bertha says if that isn’t the first thing on the list…I might want to rethink it!
That Bertha is pretty smart. Listen to her. Make that list and keep it handy. Even enlist your friend in making the list if you need to it helps so much.
Thanks, Tasha! Having your friends’ perspecitve is a great idea!
