I awoke last night…to the sound of…cat yowls…not sure it there was… fighting…or…mating…going on…all I cared about…is that it was…going on…and was disturbing my sleep…
In my groggy state…I wasn’t sure how to make them…go away…should I shout through the window…should I go out with the broom…thankfully… Bertha…suggested that I shine a flashlight out the window…perhaps that would startle them…and they would go away…
It did…they did…and I went back to sleep…
Thankfully…Bertha…waited until this morning to give me spiel on how the situation…reminded her of my life…how sometimes…things around me are a bit out of control…noisy…and my first response is to…become louder… increase the ruckus…when all I really need to do…is…shine a little love light on the subject…
Well…it worked for the cats…so…I’m willing to give it a try…
Jane
Great post… I tend to react the same way that you do (well at least according to Bertha’s account!). When things around me are a bit out of control…noisy… my first response is also to…become louder…
I am now thinking in Thomas Hardy’s book “Far From the Madding Crowd”… One day I’ll follow those steps and get deep into the silent woods…
Love, dear Jane. Thanks for sharing!, Aquileana 🙂
Thanks for your comment, Aquileana. It has been so long since I’ve read Far From the Madding Crowd that I can’t remember anything about it…sounds like I need to revisit it. Thanks for reminding me! Love and Hugs!
Excellent metaphor here for shining the light on the ‘cat fights’ in our lives! I am often awoken to the sound of birds chirping in the mornings – and those are welcome sounds 🙂
Oh…I love the sounds of birds in the morning…such a happy sound. Thanks, Christy! 😉
