To Sleet or Not to Sleet…

Well…this morning…the answer apparently is…not

That’s the thing about weather in the South…and I suppose anywhere…it’s hard to predict…a tiny shift in one parameter…changes everything…yesterday…the atmosphere was dryer than expected…so the predicted sleet and snow…became…rain…

Not sure how that works…there’s not enough moisture to snow…but…it can rain…I suppose I could Google and find out…I have been known to do that…but…it’s not that important to me this morning…

What is important…no delay in the start of the school day…now…I didn’t want us to miss school…not even on the last day before spring break…because those days have to be made up…I just wanted an extra hour to snooze…I admit it…I don’t love getting up quite as early as I normally do on a school day…

Bertha…on the other hand…isn’t concerned about my beauty sleep…but…she does say that the weather situation reminds her of my life…

What…I need more moisture…

No…and she gives me the evil eye…it only takes a tiny shift in one parameter…to make a big difference in the outcome…

She reminds me…of a time when I was feeling particularly…financially challenged…the politically correct way of saying…broke…then…I got an unexpected check for thirty dollars in the mail…and…everything changed…suddenly…making it until payday wasn’t a problem…it all worked out…

Now…she’s going on and on with examples…but…I’m not listening anymore…my hands feel a little dry…think I’ll get some lotion…

The Morning Sun is Shining…

A friend of mine recently posted on Facebook that she was teaching herself to crochet…seems that she tries to learn something new and creative every year…and from the pictures that she has posted…she’s doing a pretty good job…

Interestingly…another friend of mine gave me a very unique Christmas present…three rubber balls…she explained that she’d given identical balls to her family and friends…so that we could all learn to juggle this year…

Now…I will admit that I am quite the expert juggler already…schedules…finances…emotions…but…balls…not so much…

Honestly…I considered putting the balls in a drawer and letting that be that…but…Bertha…reminded me that part of the creative process…is getting out of my comfort zone…doing things that I haven’t done before…looking at life in a different way…

So…I’ve been working on my juggling…so far…I’m doing fairly well…with one ball at a time…but…I think my friend will have a new afghan way before I hit the juggling circuit…just saying…
