Doing It My Way…

I thought I’d give the update the challenge that…Bertha…issued a couple of weeks ago…you may remember…it was the one to love everyone…even the people that I don’t like…

Now…I wasn’t exactly sure how that was going to play out…I’m not always successful of consciously…in the present moment…stopping my brain and thinking…I love you…or anything else that doesn’t relate to my next comment…

So…consciously adding…love…to my interactions probably wasn’t the best way for me to go…plus…it didn’t cover all those people that I don’t necessarily interact with…even in my thoughts…

After some contemplation…the solution was simple…spend some contemplation time…sending love to…everyone…it’s working…and…I like it…I also actually feel more loving towards the people that I’m interacting with…most of the time

I’m using a process that…Bertha…came up with a few years ago…after getting quiet…I just start by thinking of my neighborhood…no one in particular…just my little spot in the world…and…I send them a blessing…

I send you peace…I send you love…I send you happiness…and…I send the same for me

I then add my town…my state…my country…and quickly envision a globe…sending the blessing and love to all of it…then…as I sit there…anyone who comes to mind…random as they may be…I send it specifically to them…

It’s simple…doesn’t take long…and…as I said…I think it’s working…thank you…Bertha…for the challenge…couldn’t do it without you…

The Brightest Crayon…

Okay…I admit it…I’m not always the brightest crayon in the box…or maybe…it’s just that sometimes I don’t get out of the box…case in point…my friends Tamy Burns and Kimberly Hughes…authors of…Fateful Night…a novel based on the premise that Marilyn Monroe didn’t die…announced a contest…in honor of Marilyn’s birthday…for the month of August…

It was pretty straight forward…all you had to do was make a comment on a blog post containing your favorite Marilyn quote…I’d seen some of the prizes…they’re pretty cool…I could enter…except…I don’t know any Marilyn quotes…oh well…a prize would have been nice…but…not to be…

I was going to leave it at that…until…Bertha…reminded me…after I went to bed last night…that…I could Google…how could I have forgotten that…so much for good night’s sleep…

First thing this morning…I Googled…and quickly found my favorite quote…actually…Bertha…picked it out…

“Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” ~Marilyn Monroe

I copied and pasted it into the comment section…I may not win…but…at least I have a chance…which is the lesson that…Bertha…was reminding me of…we wrote about it first in a story from…Bertha-Size Your Life!…called…Lottery…when…Bertha…explained the difference between…being lucky and having a chance…

Seems as though…I can’t win the lottery if I don’t have a ticket…can’t win a contest if I haven’t entered…can’t be hired for my dream job if I don’t apply…and…the list goes on and on…

Okay…enough blogging for today…this little crayon is getting out of the box…
