Becoming…

I love the still of the morning…before…the world…is awake…

For me…it’s a time of…no demands…the phone isn’t going to ring…there’s no one to ask me to do anything…even the house feels silent…not demanding that I clean…or repair…just letting me be…

So…I step outside…

Where there’s something magical…about the early morning sky…twixt…night and day…as the clouds turn pink from the sun’s arrival…yet the moon…still rules the sky…making it…neither…night…nor…day…

Bertha…says…it reminds her of my life…of transitions…in particular…of those times…that…I am neither…here…nor…there…but…rather…in a place of…becoming

I have to say…that I have traditionally found…this place…to be uncomfortable…unlike the sun and the moon…that appear to savor the beauty of the moment…I’ve wanted to rush through the process…getting to…there…as quickly as possible…but…missing…the beauty…of…becoming

So…now…as I drink my coffee…I contemplate…the silence…the beauty…the becoming…and…I have to agree…it’s a lovely place to be…

Thundering Timing…

I woke up early this morning…to the sound of thunder…it would have been the perfect morning to sleep in…dark…and…rumbling…but…I was awake…so…after a few minutes…I got on up and at ‘em…but…I was a little bummed…that I couldn’t continue to snooze…

Bertha…wandered in as I was drinking my coffee…and…of course…she said it reminded her of my life…

Huh…how could the thunder remind her of my life…

Well…it seems that…even though…sometimes…it seems…to me…like the perfect time for something…it just doesn’t happen…

I have to admit…that got my attention…and…yes…I can relate to it…it would be a long list…so…I won’t go into all the ways

Anyway…she went on to say…that…it was okay…because…it isn’t the only time that things will ever be right…this is…life…it’s a process…not a one-time deal…maybe…my perception was off just a bit…and…while this may be the best time there has been…so far…maybe the next time will actually be even better…

Hmmm…the thunder is…rumbling…again…and…a nap sounds kind of nice…right about now…she may just be on to something…
