I received an email this morning from a popular magazine…it was actually one of 
several that they’ve sent me…entreating me…that they…want me…back…
Now…my first response…after I clicked…delete…was…but…you never had me…you can’t have me…back…
And…honestly…that is and isn’t true…actually several years ago…I did order a subscription as a gift…so…I suppose…on the surface…they could look at the situation as if…they had me at one time…while…in truth…I never saw one page of their monthly releases…
Bertha…popped in about that time…reminding me of correlations in my life…starting with…that…relationship…the one that I longed to have back for ever so long…but…in retrospect…I realized I never really had it to begin with…yes…on the surface…it appeared that I did…but…like the magazine subscription…appearances can be deceiving…
Well…Bertha…was willing to continue the lesson…in fact…she had quite a list of examples…but…I had enough to contemplate today…so…I cancelled my subscription…
Yeah…right…it should be so easy…

I wish we could just cancel subscriptions on relationships we don’t want anymore or on bad memories. Your metaphor here is so creative. ((hugs))
