The only thing that is constant is change. ~Heraclitus
Bertha…reminds me of this today…as I am contemplating…how the weight training program I’ve started is going to fit into my life…thing about it…it’s more than just a trip to the gym three times a week…it’s a total lifestyle change…eating differently…at different times of day…specifically to foster building lean tissue and burning fat…there’s stretching…and something called foam rolling to do on the other days…I had to order a foam roller…who has those things just lying around…
Anyway…it’s a bit overwhelming…a bit intimidating…unfamiliar…unknown…even though…I’ve read about the approach before…I’ve never really been committed to it…
Bertha…says…it reminds her of when I got Maybelle from the pound…
Ahhh…yes…I remember…I’d been thinking about getting a dog for a couple of weeks…and…called the pound on a whim…they had a chocolate lab puppy…I rushed down…without passing go…without collecting $200…
Truth is…she was the first dog I’d had as an adult…didn’t know the first thing about training her…had no supplies…no toys…no puppy pads…no food…no dishes…no baby gates…nothing…
Anyway…Bertha’s…point was…although the first few days were a little hectic…and maybe even…shaky…in no time…we’d figured it all out…she’d been to the vet…she had food and water…she had toys…she was on her way to being house trained…and…then…we moved…and it all changed again…but…it all worked out…in a new way…and…these changes will as well…
Of course she’s right…the foam roller will come…the exercise routines will become…well…routine…the dietary changes will be second nature…and then…it will change again…but…it’s okay…I’ll be ready…

Ah change… we love to hate it – but the alternative is to stay stuck… and that can be just as dangerous!
Jenn…I think that staying where we are is probably the most dangerous of all things…gotta keep growing…and…I know you do that so well! Thanks for visiting today.
Sounds like the changes in your life are good! I loved the photograph of you in your turquoise jeans. It looks like you’re following Bertha’s advice!
Thanks, Peggy. I do believe that they are steps in the best direction. And yes…I’m allowing Bertha to pick out my wardrobe…I hope that’s a wise decision…LOL!
