I’m not one of those people…you know the ones…who are masters at productivity…while keeping everything in meticulous order on their desk…not by a long shot…
I like to say it is because I don’t have a very large work space…at home or at work…and that is true…but…truth be known…I could have a desk the size of a football field…and it would still be messy…if I was getting any work done…
See…I guess I’m one of the…out of sight…out of mind…people…and not in a good way…if it’s all put away…nice and neat and organized…I feel like I don’t have anything to do…and…it doesn’t get done…
But…strew it all about in messy piles…and I’ll keep on it until it gets finished…
Now the thing about it…I know what’s in my messy piles…the most frustrated I ever got with a co-worker…was when she…straightened…my desk as I was preparing for a Joint Commission Survey…it took me a week to figure out what I was doing…and…after sweeping up all my hair that I pulled out in the process…she never…cleaned…for me again…
Bertha…says…that’s the point…some people work better in a bit of chaos…some work better in more structure…there truly isn’t a right or a wrong…but living or working with your opposite can be frustrating…
Yesterday…I had several projects in the works…drug testing consents…immunization Blue Slips…healthcare plans…medication orders…diabetic logs…they all had to be done…and they were all…right there…in nice…messy piles on my desk…I got a lot accomplished…and tidied up before I left…
But…today…it will look like a paper bomb exploded…shortly after I get there…no excuses…
