I was posting a blip…regarding my friend…Kymber Lee’s…book…Lord Tristan’s True Love…on Facebook this morning…that went…like this…
Did you know that the society of Regency England forced members of the town to marry should they been seen in public together? The unescorted young lady’s reputation would be quite ruined otherwise.
Well…you know…Bertha…got a hold of that notion…and…got me to thinking…who was the first boy…I was ever seen in public with…as a couple…
Hmmm…
Visions…of a fifth grade me…in a white dress with brown polka dots…sitting across the table…from…my…seventh grade crush…at…Walgreens’ soda fountain…comes to mind…I had walked there from…the…John Deere place…and…I have no idea how he got there…how…we arranged to meet…if we ever met again…or anything else…but…that moment…and…that dress…will always be part of my memory…
Oh…and…I’m not sure…Mama…knew about it…so…shhh…please…don’t tell…
Well…although…my crush of days gone by…is still a good friend…I’m grateful that…we were allowed to meet in public…and that…we weren’t forced to marry…at that tender age…leaving us both…to find…true love…on our own terms…
But…now…I’m curious…about…Lord Tristan…
Hmmm…time to fire up the Kindle…
Jane
So sweet Jane!!!!! Adorable!!! I can remember my first crush, Brian Montana in first grade. He would hardly let me get near him. Instead I grabbed him and kissed him in front of all my friends. Nothing like being aggressive!!!!Come to think of it, I would have really liked Lord Tristan too!!!! 🙂
LOL…Brenda…I’m sure Brian regrets his actions to this day! Thanks for sharing!!!
LOL, mine was Paul Andrews! Blast from the past!
So fun to remember these things, Vickie…thanks for sharing!
