Accountability…without…authority…has never set well with me…and…yet…I seem to
find myself in that situation…over and over again…
It’s obviously a pattern…that I need to deal with…I just don’t know exactly how to do that…and…Bertha…isn’t weighing in…at the moment…
So…it seems…I am left with the task…of getting…people to do something…that they really don’t want to do…but…that has to be done…or…I will be held responsible…and…I can’t even threaten them…
I have to say…this goes against all of my previous life experience…even as a parent…I could ground the girls…make them clean their rooms…or just threaten…don’t make me count to three…
Ahhh…now…Bertha…chimes in…I should try the counting to three thing in this situation…but…somehow…I know…she’s pulling my leg…
She does say…that it isn’t about…force…it’s about…motivation…and…that good leaders…motivate…they don’t…dictate…and…I know that…I understand the principles…I appreciate working…with…and…for…a leader…
So…now…she’s challenging me…to find a way…to be a leader in this situation…challenging me…to…find a way to motivate…but…honestly…I just want to…count to three…and…be done with it…
I suppose some contemplation time…is in order…
