As promised…yesterday was the last day of school…and…trust me…there was no nostalgia…no…hanging around…no hating to leave…it just wasn’t that kind of a day…

For whatever reason…the day started out slap happy…anything…anyone…said was just too funny…jokes were made about any and everything…and…I don’t think I will ever be able to eat yogurt again…without laughing…I would explain…but…it’s one of those things…that…you probably had to be there…and…it wouldn’t be funny today…well…yeah…I think it still would…

So that’s how the day went…until…the final bell rang at eleven o’clock…the staff then departed…for a retirement luncheon…I rode with the yogurt gigglers…and…the frivolity continued on the twenty minute trip…

The retirement portion of lunch was touching…tears rimmed our eyes…as we said goodbye to our co-worker…

The food was good…

And…then…we headed home…stopping at the first service station we came to…for gas…where there was a race to the pump…to see who could get their card in first to pay…for some reason…one of our student’s mom was there and witnessed the whole thing…probably wondering if she should transfer her son to another school

Anyway…when we left the station…she followed us…and pulled up alongside us…we rolled down the window…and she told us that we had an almost flat tire…so…we drove to the next station…

That’s when the real fun began…now…under normal circumstances…putting air in a tire…is not a hysterical event…but…yesterday…wasn’t normal circumstances…and it was…from the time we pulled up…and there was a car blocking the air pump…to the man in a pickup…that we were semi blocking…to just the whole thing…

For some reason…I decided to capture the moment…with my cell phone…which made it even funnier…

Okay…enough of that…I have to say…it was the most fun…that I’ve had in a long time…it’s not that I don’t enjoy life…I do…I just don’t usually let go…and laugh that much…

Of course…Bertha…came along…reminding me…that…life is to be celebrated…and…that unlike most celebrations…it can’t really be planned…I just have to show up…and let it happen…when it does…she reminded me of some of the most special days in my life…none of which…were planned…involved…spending a lot of money…or…a trip to Disney World…they were just days…that…I was truly present…and…let the moments happen…

Now…if you’ll pardon me…I think I’ll have some yogurt…I could use a good laugh to start the day…
