Yesterday morning…I enjoyed my coffee on the porch…basking in the greenness of my backyard…it had rained overnight…stormed actually…and everything was all the greener…the squirrels were more playful…the birds sang sweeter tunes…the chipmunk was more adventurous…
The sky was still gray…there was still a large chance of rain…it came…thunder rumbled…it poured…on more than one occasion…but…for some reason…for me…it was a beautiful day…I loved the rain…I loved the thunder…I loved the gray sky…which after a long wet winter was unlike me…and…I didn’t know why…
Bertha…was all too happy to explain…the difference in my mood was because it is spring…with spring rain…I can almost look out the window and see things getting greener with each drop that falls…quite a contrast to the gray days of winter…when the rains only tend to make things look more bleak…more stark…
She reminds me that the dreary winter rains…are just as important…at ensuring a beautiful spring…as the refreshing spring ones…they each have their place…
Of course…she further related it to my life…to challenges that come along…sometimes…it’s easier to see the immediate benefit of my efforts…sometimes…not so much…but…they are equally important…it’s all about…relaxing…and…trusting…the process…

Love this post! And I needed to hear those words today to trust in the process : )
Thank you Diane…I’m so glad it spoke to you this morning. Sometimes I wonder when I’m writing why those exact words came to my mind…they aren’t always the ones that I started out with…and then…someone will say…that’s just what I needed today. Thank you for sharing that…it’s just what I needed…to help me continue to trust the process. 😉
I love the way the air smells after a spring rain – so fresh and pure! Wishing you a great week ahead!
Oooh…Christy I love that smell as well. Have a wonderful week, yourself! Thanks for visiting!
