I enjoy a wide variety of music…usually have music playing in the background…but…I’ve never gotten into Rap…for one thing…I mostly can’t understand the lyrics…don’t know what they are saying…which in many cases is probably a good thing…so…unless forced…kicking and screaming…by a teenager…or…a very loud car in the next lane at the traffic light…I simply don’t listen…
I prefer…the music that I grew up with…from the 60’s…from the 70’s…now that was music…it made sense…or…did it…
Today…as I listen to the songs of my youth…sometimes I wonder…what were we thinking…or not thinking as the case may be…anyway…I heard this little ditty on the radio the other morning…and knew…that I needed to share it…if you were from the day…it’ll make you smile…and…if you are from today…it’ll make you shake your head turn up your music just a little louder…
Bertha…has on her shindig boots…and she’s doing the…Monkey…hope you’ll join her…
Ladies and gentlemen…I give you…Surfin’ Bird by the Trashmen…
Jane
Pretty dire, wasn’t it xx
Joy…you are so right! I think I should listen to that song every time I wonder what is wrong with kids today…LOL!
Good lord! No wonder our parents disapproved of rock and roll!
I know…can you believe it…that was a big hit in the day!
Not sure if it ever made it to the States, but there was a song called “This pullover (that you gave to me)” by Jess Conrad, which has got to be the naffest ever http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGESxjqHf7E
wonder if Bertha can think of anything worthy to say about it?
Too funny…and…no…I’d never heard it. Bertha just wonders if he is still wearing it today…and what he smells like…LOL! Thanks for sharing that one!
