Hmmm…who knew…well I for one didn’t know…that my HP printer ink has an expiration date…but that’s what I’ve recently been told…so I looked on the box…and sure enough…there is a date…
I must admit…my curiosity got the better of me…why does printer ink have an expiration date…so…if you know me very well…you know what I did…I Googled…
I know…it’s a weakness of mine…Google-itis…but…I just can’t help myself…
Anyway…I found some interesting information…first of all…the date on the box isn’t an expiration date…it’s a…warranty ends…date…second of all…all printers aren’t affected by the date…and even the ones that are…the ink will continue to work for at least 12 months beyond the date…and then you get a message that it is no longer working…you can override the message on some printers…and some you can’t…
Ink also expires after it has been installed for 18 months in some printers…never a problem for me…since I print a lot when I’m writing…I edit better that way…
The funny thing is…I suddenly have four extra boxes of printer ink…two of which were recently gifted to me…and are just beyond their warranty dates…
So…what does all of this have to do with my life…other than the fact that I now have to check the dates of my ink when I’m shopping…along with the milk…eggs…cheese…and everything else that I seem to buy…
Well…according to…Bertha…everything…or…at least…a little…she says that it is a reminder…that there is a best time for everything…in fact…she coined a new phrase…
You need to print while the ink is fresh! ~ Bertha
Which…I think is her way of telling me…I need to be writing and editing this weekend…
Hmmm…she could be on to something…
