Yesterday was warm… in the seventies… today… it’s snowing… and in the thirties. That’s March in the South. It seems that if we have a mild winter… that we’re bound to get a snow in March… and quite often… a significant one. There are reports of up to four inches in places. I’m far enough south that we only got a dusting… but that was enough for me to sit in my comfy chair and watch it snow. I think falling snow is the most peaceful sight in the whole world. Of course… I’m in the process of moving… so the distraction and delay is not so welcome.

But welcome or not… I peeped around the boxes in the living room… savoring the swirling whiteness and a cup of coffee… as Bertha went out to catch snowflakes on her tongue.

She said we’d relate it all to my life another day… that today… she’s making snow angels before the sun shines… which I think is a misquote of an old southern saying about making hay. But… who’s to say?

And… it’s a good thing she did… because… in the time it took to write this blog… the snow has stopped and is rapidly melting. And.. maybe this is how it relates to my life… snow is short… play in it!

Oh… and here are my neighbor’s snow dusted irises.
