Yesterday…I meant to go for a late afternoon bike ride…and…I started…I had on my helmet…gloves…cycling shoes…the whole nine yards…but…I’d no sooner than gotten out of the driveway…before…I heard it…

Music…

Music…coming from the town square…so…I rode the three blocks…found a comfy spot…and thoroughly enjoyed the sounds of…The Ray Sparks Band

They are a local band…I knew a couple of the members…they played some old favorites…like…I Heard it Through the GrapevineGeorgia…and…Pretty Woman

What impressed…Bertha…was…that even though they were playing popular songs…with distinctive sounds…they didn’t just try to copy the original artists…instead…they gave each song…their own flare…and…they were…very good…

Bertha…said I should take a lesson from them…

What…guitar…sax…keyboard…singing…

She rolled her eyes…and…shook her head…no…the lesson I should take…was…to not be afraid to be myself…to let my uniqueness shine…for all the world to see…it’s okay to be me…

Hmmm…she could have a point…but…I really think I might be more suited for the sax…
