Yesterday…I got caught up in a situation…when…someone else…reacted…to a situation…by…becoming…Chicken Little…
The sky is falling…the sky is falling…
When…in fact…acorns were merely landing on their head…
Of course…I had a choice…join in the march to tell the King…or…stay at home and see what happened…
Unfortunately…I was off to see the King…wearing my best ruby red slippers…just in case he was a Wizard…
When all was said and done…there was a lot of egg…on a lot of faces…and…yes…even though I was in the back of the line…some of it splattered on me…
Bertha…didn’t show up until after the…parade…was over…then…she reminded me…what I learned during years of management positions…be proactive…not…reactive…
But…had to ask…how could I be proactive in this situation…it was one of those things that just blindside me…it wasn’t even an oak tree…no one could have seen the acorn coming…
That’s when she reminded me…that…being proactive…does mean…planning ahead…figuring out the what-ifs…making contingencies…but…when…things happen that are outside of my plan…I can still be proactive…if I just practice what…Mama…has told me all of my life…
Think…first…act…later…
Oh…well…yeah…that…
Kabong…
That’s the sound of me thinking…

Chicken little, ruby slippers… and so much wonderful writing from Jane. I love watching your thoughts unfold as you write the posts.
Thank you so much for that, Christy…I take it as high praise coming from such a talented poet and spinner of words as you!
