There’s a squirrel…playing outside my window…probably looking for nuts it hasBe a Squirrell hidden in the lawn…in preparation for the predicted colder weather… Bertha…points to it…in all its squirrelish behavior…and says…it reminds her… of my life…in particular…of living my truth…

Now…even for…Bertha…that seems like a stretch…so I have to ask…why… how…

Of course…she is eager to explain…the squirrel…is happy doing its thing…being true to its nature…it isn’t trying to sprout feathers…or dye its fur…to impress the redbirds…it isn’t trying to bark with the dogs…it is just being a squirrel…

She says…it’s the same with living my truth…it’s about knowing who I am and what I want in life and doing it…it’s not about trying to be what someone else might want me to be…no matter how much I might want to impress them…

Hmmm…

One of my favorite Bertha stories is Independence Day in Becoming Bertha…it really brings home the concept of changing in order to please others. All the Bertha books are on sale through 1/3/15 for only 99 cents…so it’s a great time to check them out…just click on Bertha…she’ll take you there!
