Married in Fifth Grade…

I was posting a blip…regarding my friend…Kymber Lee’s…book…Lord Tristan’s True Love…on Facebook this morning…that went…like this…

Did you know that the society of Regency England forced members of the town to marry should they been seen in public together? The unescorted young lady’s reputation would be quite ruined otherwise.

Well…you know…Bertha…got a hold of that notion…and…got me to thinking…who was the first boy…I was ever seen in public with…as a couple…

Hmmm…

Visions…of a fifth grade me…in a white dress with brown polka dots…sitting across the table…from…my…seventh grade crush…at…Walgreens’ soda fountain…comes to mind…I had walked there from…the…John Deere place…and…I have no idea how he got there…how…we arranged to meet…if we ever met again…or anything else…but…that moment…and…that dress…will always be part of my memory…

Oh…and…I’m not sure…Mama…knew about it…so…shhh…please…don’t tell…

Well…although…my crush of days gone by…is still a good friend…I’m grateful that…we were allowed to meet in public…and that…we weren’t forced to marry…at that tender age…leaving us both…to find…true love…on our own terms…

But…now…I’m curious…about…Lord Tristan…

Hmmm…time to fire up the Kindle…

When Kymber Speaks…Bertha Listens

Bertha…and I are excited to have author…Kymber Lee…visit with us today…Kymber is a Christian historical romance novelist…her first novel…Treasured Love…is available in audio or paperback…and…her latest…Lord Tristan’s True Love…is available on Kindle and should be out in paperback later this year…

Kymber…hales from Texas…and lives in Atlanta…so…Bertha…definitely feels a certain…southern affinity…with her…but…Kymber…is much more than a Southern Belle…she’s a fulltime writer…with an English degree…and…writes in two genres…

Her…What She Knew Trilogy…co-authored with her bestie…T L Burns…premiered with…Fateful Night…it’s a mystery…it’s a conspiracy…it’s all about…Marilyn Monroe…and…what if…she didn’t really die…and…what if

Well…I’ll leave you to read the what ifs…for yourself…and…I promise you won’t be disappointed…

So…let’s see…what…Bertha…had to ask Kymber this morning…

Kymber…so glad you are joining us this morning…first…we’d like to know…are there any authors that you admire…

Janette Oake, Agatha Christy, and Marion Chesney

What a great lineup…I can see that they represent your writing genres…you must read…what you enjoy writing…

You know I really do. In fact that’s one of my best writing tips…write as if you were the reader. Being a reader helps my writing quite a bit.

That is a great tip…do you have others…

Yes, I have a couple. First, choose your target audience and then make sure there aren’t any holes in the story or flat characters.

Those are great tips…Bertha…comments that she would like to see the cat…flattened…in one of my books…but…I don’t think that’s what you meant…

Sorry, Bertha. It wasn’t what I meant at all!

Yeah…I didn’t think so…anyway…on with getting to know you better…how long have you been writing…and…is it a career…or…a hobby…

I’ve been writing for fifteen years. It is definitely my fulltime career. But it’s more than just a career. Writing is as essential to me as breathing.

I know what you mean…and…I can’t wait until retirement…so I can start that new…career…until then…I whine…but…back to you…how do you like your books…Ebook…paperback…hardcover…

I like them all. Ebooks are rapidly gaining ground and are a great way to read without the bulk. Of course I love a good paperback to hold and enjoy.

I know what you mean…I got my Kindle just in time to save my house from an avalanche of books…

One last thing…tell us…what you are currently working on…

A Regency Romance and the third book in a trilogy with my co-author.

Wow…you definitely are a busy writer…thanks for taking the time to visit with…Bertha…and me today…we can’t wait for your new releases…

Oh…and a little birdie…told me…Lord Tristan’s True Love…is on sale for only 99 cents…so it’s a great time for everyone to grab a copy…
