The Morning Sun is Shining…

A friend of mine recently posted on Facebook that she was teaching herself to crochet…seems that she tries to learn something new and creative every year…and from the pictures that she has posted…she’s doing a pretty good job…

Interestingly…another friend of mine gave me a very unique Christmas present…three rubber balls…she explained that she’d given identical balls to her family and friends…so that we could all learn to juggle this year…

Now…I will admit that I am quite the expert juggler already…schedules…finances…emotions…but…balls…not so much…

Honestly…I considered putting the balls in a drawer and letting that be that…but…Bertha…reminded me that part of the creative process…is getting out of my comfort zone…doing things that I haven’t done before…looking at life in a different way…

So…I’ve been working on my juggling…so far…I’m doing fairly well…with one ball at a time…but…I think my friend will have a new afghan way before I hit the juggling circuit…just saying…

Bertha’s Boot Scootin’ Boogie…

Finally…I found…Bertha…a new pair of shoes yesterday…actually…they are boots…cowboy boots…she’s been wanting some for a while…but…I…didn’t think they’d be comfortable…so I hadn’t tried any on…

Instead…I kept buying little round toed flats…because…hey…everybody knows…they look so comfy…except…they really hurt my feet…I have no idea why…or…how…but…they hurt the bones on the side of my feet…and my toes slide down into them too far…and they hurt…too…

Anyway…the weather is getting cooler…and sandals are on the way out…I really needed a pair of shoes…and…I’d finally figured out…that a loafer cut…didn’t hurt my feet…that’s when I hit my favorite department store’s shoe sale…armed with an extra 20% off coupon…

I had decided on something in brown…I have something in black that I can get by with for now…I think I tried on about twenty pairs of shoes…and I found a pair that was…stylish and comfy…and a good price…but…Bertha…kept eyeing the cowboy boots…

I kept telling her…NO…they wouldn’t be comfortable…but that argument was about as successful as trying to reason with a three year-old…

Finally she reminded me…I’d never tried them on…I really didn’t know if they were comfy or not…

Okay…she got me…I pulled the sample from the shelf…and asked to try it in my size…and…eighth wonder of the world…they fit…they felt good…they looked so cute with my jeans and sweater…

They weren’t on sale…I didn’t care…I had a coupon…and…Bertha…had her boots…well…almost…she really wanted the bright turquoise ones…but…reluctantly gave in to the taupe ones that will go with most about everything…

Now…I have to wonder…she’s not gonna make me take line dancing class again…is she…
