Wow…back to work one day…and I’m already behind…at work and at home…funny how that happens…got to establish new routines both places…but…not to worry…they will be established…and by this time next week…I’m sure I’ll have it all figured out…yeah…right…I know…
My schedule is kind of like raising kids…just when I think I’ve got it all worked out…it…changes…
So…I don’t have a clue what this year is going to look like…when I’m going to write…today…it feels like I’ll need to give up eating and sleeping…but…I really don’t see that happening…so…something else will have to shift…
Bertha…says my theory of time management is a lot like my budget…I keep adding things to it and don’t want to leave anything off…
The thing about it is…though…time kind of does the culling for me…if I reach the end of the month short on cash…I start prioritizing in a big way…and the next month…I tend to keep the priorities…thus…a new budget is set…
And…it’s pretty much the same with time…once I realize that the world doesn’t end if something doesn’t get done…priorities are determined…and a new schedule is born…
Which brings me back to parenting…I remember when my oldest daughter was born…I was such a fanatic…with her bath…with her laundry…with her cloth diapers…everything had to be done…at least once a day…until…her sister was born eighteen months later…and was pretty colicky…rarely sleeping…it was then that I discovered…the laundry hamper could get full…disposable diapers really were all they were cracked up to be…and…as long as you got the creases…newborns really didn’t have to have a full bath every day…
Funny…that memory…actually helps me relax a bit…helps me know that it will all work out…I mean…if I lived through that time…I can do anything…
