I read an interesting blog this morning…by…Dave Jackson…about…striking it rich…as an author…you know…like J.K. Rowling or Stephen King…fame and fortune status…
Now…he had a list of ten things…some altruistic…some…just fun…that he would do…then…he asked the readers…what would you do…
Well…my mind started racing…bigger houses…maids…grandchildren’s college funds…okay…maybe…I’d help out some other people…actually…I’m pretty sure that would be on the top of the list…but…when it came all down to it…I knew…what I would do first…
Drumroll please…
I’d go to the local WallyWorld…where I bemoaned spending half a week’s salary just yesterday…and…still didn’t have anything to eat to speak of when it came time to cook dinner…and buy everything I needed…you know…laundry detergent…toilet tissue…bug spray…printer ink…light bulbs…new broom…all those kinds of things…without looking at the prices…and…keeping a running tally in my head…
As unimpressive as it sounds…that would be a total luxury…I’d worry about snazzy sports cars…and…Bertha…shopping at Prada…after I had plenty of toilet tissue in the house…I suppose that confirms Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs…
I just love when I can help out the scientific community…

I stay away from Wally World for that very reason! Once I get in there, I realize what I am out of at home and the cart ends up being two! And still no food!!!! Went to the local dollar store yesterday. Same thing. Walked out with a bag of Twizzlers, cleaning stuff, dog toys and treats. Wonder how long I can live on Twizzlers? LOL!!!!!!
Striking it rich for me would mean buying a sanctuary where I can care for some of the unloved, unwanted, throw-a-way animals of the world. That would make me feel rich beyond my wildest dreams!!
Arlene…I feel your ‘pain’…I knew you’d rescue more animals…you have such a wonderful heart for that…here’s hoping that someday soon you’ll be able to do just that!
this is too funny!! I do understand though!! I worked 19 years at Wally world so I go there as little as possible.. Isn’t that what hubby’s are for?
Cathy…I don’t blame you for not wanting to go…honestly…I don’t either…put it off as long as I can…hmmm…maybe I should look into one of those hubby things…they shop?
Sounds like you’re pretty content! Having a good supply of toilet paper is not too much to ask.
Peggy
Peggy…you’re right about that…and…that’s the one thing I will not run out of! Thanks for stopping by…and have a great day!
We don’t have a Wally World here but I can’t get over how funny the name sounds!
Christy…shhh…it’s really Wal-Mart…but…we call it WallyWorld…just for fun…see…made you smile… 🙂
I’m a very good and careful shopper and always pack my cart full of junk food. Whatever it was that I actually needed at the store was completely forgotten. I still have nothing to fix for dinner.
Madison…that’s too funny…and…I hate when I do that…for some reason…I refuse to make a list…I always think I’ll remember what I need…I know…insanity…LOL!
