The other day…I unthinkingly mentioned to…Bertha…that I was bored in a certain situation in my life…and wished it was a little more…challenging…
Oh…she jumped on that quicker than a Girl Scout shows up at your door when you want a cookie…asking me if that is what I really wanted…
Duh…I’m bored…I want a challenge…
She just smiled and asked if what I really wanted…was to be more…stimulated…
Well…aren’t they the same thing…
No…not at all…she explained…the word…challenge…indicates strife in some way…while…stimulation…indicates inspiration and enthusiasm…they are nothing like the same thing…
She went on to say that this is an important part of living my truth…knowing what I really want…and asking for it…because…as her Grandma Minnie Mae always said…be careful what you wish for…you just might get it…
What can I say…she is right…either challenge or stimulation would break the boredom…but I really don’t enjoy strife…so…now I know what to ask for…and I think I’ll spend some time in the contemplation chair just thinking about all the times I’ve said…I love a challenge…
Geez…I could be there a while…
Jane…
How about you are you asking for what you really want? I’d love to hear in the comments. And while you’re there…check that little box to sign up for our newsletter…it’s brand new and we know you love to be on the leading edge.
Yes…I am learning to ask for what I want…in tiny increments…as I discover myself and my true heart’s desires…I am slowly to learn to accept a NO…and know in my heart and soul that it not a rejection/indictment of me as a human being…. merely as another answer to my prayers…and that the YES is also there…I just need to find it and be ready to receive it.
I understand that my Higher Power answers all prayers immediately with one of 3 answers…YES, NO, ASK AGAIN LATER (there is more work to be done first before I am ready to receive.)
Thanks Jane and Bertha 🙂
I love you!!!
Hella,
I think it’s only in tiny increments that we make HUGE progress. It can be so difficult to accept that NO without rejection…so glad you are doing that.
HUGS…LOVE…and thanks for visiting!
Asking for what you want sounds easy but as you explain so well here Jane it’s not!! I also think sometimes we try to tell ourselves we want what we think others want for us. Bottom line is that everyone just wants us to be happy 🙂 I wish you a happy weekend – and tell Bertha to keep writing 😀
Very good point Christy about telling ourselves we want what we think will make other people happy…Bertha says I’ve been guilty of that in the past. 😉 And you’re right…they do want us to be happy…so…let’s do it! Have a wonderful weekend.
Challenges are so important as they usually entrain changes and personal growth… I love Bertha´statements here.. She sounded like an empowering Girl Scout, indeed. Best wishes to you, Jane. Aquileana 😀
They definitely do that, Aquileana. Bertha always says that you can’t have movement without change. 😉 Love the Girl Scout image. 😉 Thanks!
