Yesterday was the 100th day of school…and…K-2…including teachers…celebrated by dressing up like they were 100 years old…they also had several fun activities…
Seems as though the significance has nothing to do with the fact that there are only eighty days left in our school calendar…but…is all about…celebrating that they can count to…100…
And…count they did…by ones…by tens…as they glued 100 Fruit Loops and 100 macaronis onto a giant poster of the number…you guessed it…100…
I visited Kindergarten…they were listening to instructions…they were diligent…they were sorting…by shape…by size…by texture…they glued…they cut…and…they had tons of fun…but…most important…they were learning…or…at least reviewing…practicing what they have already learned this year…and…that’s actually no small feat…for just 100 days…
Bertha…reminds me…that’s how it can be in my life…my lessons…although challenging…can be fun…I can laugh…I can be silly…I can dress up like I’m 100 years old…
And…maybe I did…
Jane
PS…Maybe it is true that…everything I needed to know…I learned in Kindergarten…
